In Aizkraukle Municipality, two Business Support and Communication Specialists ensure the availability of information and provide advisory support to individuals who have started or wish to start a business, thereby promoting the development of a sustainable and high-quality business environment and fostering cooperation.
Various events and activities are implemented for entrepreneurs and business development. Partnerships have been established and strengthened with institutions such as the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development (VARAM), Zemgale Planning Region (ZPR), the Zemgale Business Centre, the Zemgale Division of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LTRK), the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA), the Aizkraukle District Partnership, Riga Business School at RTU, the financial institution ALTUM, the Latvian Rural Advisory and Training Centre (LLKC) Aizkraukle Division, as well as the training centre “BUTS”. Regular information exchange is carried out with these partners regarding projects, events, and activities aimed at developing and improving entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneur meetups are organized on a regular basis. These events include sharing of business experiences, getting to know new local entrepreneurs, discussing current business-related topics, and encouraging dialogue on issues important to the entrepreneurial community.
To support both individuals and legal entities in realizing their business ideas — and to motivate residents to create new products or services in the Aizkraukle region — the municipality annually announces a business idea competition called “Be an Entrepreneur in Aizkraukle Municipality!”
