Aizkraukle County Annual Entrepreneurship Award

The competition committee determines the candidates for the competition based on data from the State Revenue Service, the Enterprise Register, LURSOFT, the Rural Support Service, the development finance institution “ALTUM”, the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, the Central Finance and Contract Agency, the Aizkraukle Council, etc.

The awards are presented to companies that have provided significant support to the development of the Aizkraukle region in the previous year.

Awards received:

• In the nomination “Large Taxpayer” the award was presented to SIA “Billerud Latvia”. SIA “Billerud Latvia” is a Swedish capital company operating in Jaunjelgava.
• In the nomination “Large Employer” the award was given to SIA “Hanza-elektro” from Koknese.
• In the nomination “Step in the World” the award was given to SIA “RADADA” from Skrīveri.
• In the nomination “Stability” the award was given to SIA “Pļaviņu DM”.
• In the nomination “Investments” the award was given to SIA “Kokneses SES”.
• In the nomination “Innovation” the award was given to the farm “Čaidāni”.
• In the nomination “Growth” the award was given to SIA “Salenieku Bloks” from Sērene parish.
• In the nomination “Farmer in the Countryside” the award was given to Dzintars Kazakevičs from Sece.
• In the nomination “From generation to generation” the award was given to SIA “Beļūna ZS Saules” from Nereta parish.
• In the nomination “Local taste” the award was given to SIA “BERICO” from Sece.
• In the nomination “Master of the craft” the award was given to SIA “INDALO” from Nereta parish.
• In the nomination “Tourism pearl” the award was given to SIA “Odzienas muiža”.
• In the nomination “Young entrepreneur” the award was given to IK “Stukmaņu dārzs”.
• The applicant for the nomination “Customer-Friendly” is nominated by residents.
• Residents of Aizkraukle municipality were invited to participate in the vote and choose one entrepreneur who would deserve recognition in the nomination “Customer-Friendly”. At the end of the vote, the winner of the nomination “Customer-Friendly” was recognized as the resting place “Ciemiņi”, located in “Kalniņi” of Bebri parish

• In the nomination "Large employer in Aizkraukle municipality" the company "MV Tara" from Jaunjelgava was awarded.
• In the nomination "The Largest Taxpayer", the award was received by SIA "Seces koks", which provides an average of 80 % of the total amount of thermal energy required in Aizkraukle.
• In the nomination "Exporter in Aizkraukles municipality", the award was awarded to SIA "Kūdras Enerģija" from Koknese.
• In the nomination "Stability" the farm "Pumpuri" of Zalve parish and its owner Nauris Smirnovs were honored.
• In the nomination "Investments in Aizkraukle municipality", the award was received by the owner of the farm "Dārznieki" Armands Bērtulsons from Aizkraukle parish.
• In the nomination "Development in Aizkraukle municipality" Koknese company "NN Metālapstrāde" was awarded.
• In the nomination "Growth in Aizkraukles municipality", the award was received by the owners of SIA "Mad Mik Vet", veterinarians Madara and Miks Kaidaki from Pļaviņas.
• In the nomination "Farmer in the countryside in Aizkraukle county", the award was awarded to the farmer Wilhelm van Herk, who farms in Koknese.
• In the nomination "Family business in Aizkraukle municipality" the Skrīveri farm "Ragāres”, which is engaged in organic farming was awarded.
• In the nomination "Craftsman in Aizkraukle district" Lilija Ziediņa from Skrīveri, who prepares soap of realistic appearance, was awarded.
• In the nomination "Tourism Service Provider in Aizkraukle Municipality", the award was received by IK "Liellaiva" from Staburags parish Uldis Albiņš, which offers scenic boat trips "Vīgante" and "Sēlis".
• In the nomination "Young Entrepreneur in Aizkraukle Municipality" the entrepreneur and organic farmer Signe Žuka, who grows and processes garlic and other vegetables in Aizkraukle parish, was awarded.
• In the nomination "Friendly to the customer" the winner was the farm "Eģīši" of Iršu parish, and the award was received by its mistress Irita Riekstiņa. Cereals are grown on the farm, a sea buckthorn garden on an area of four hectares is created, and guests are welcomed into the sea buckthorn rest house.
