The Aizkraukle municipality has announced a business idea competition "Be an entrepreneur in Aizkraukle municipality 2026". The information hour will be held online on April 9 at 3:00 p.m., and applications for the competition can be submitted until April 27.

The aim of the competition is to provide municipal support for the implementation of business ideas of individuals and legal entities, promote the formation of new economic operators in the Aizkraukle region, support socially responsible merchants, and motivate residents to realize their business ideas for creating new products or services.

The competition has been allocated 20 000 euros from the municipal budget, and it is possible to receive co-financing of up to 5 000 euros for the implementation of one business idea. The support is intended for starting new business projects or developing existing ideas in the administrative territory of Aizkraukle municipality.

The competition is open to:

  • natural persons aged 18 and over who plan to start a business;

  • legal entities registered within the last two years.

To provide more information about the conditions of participation, application preparation and the competition process, an information session will be held on April 9 at 3:00 p.m. It will be available remotely on the Microsoft Teams platform. During the event, interested parties will be able to ask questions and learn about the experiences of previous year's competition participants.

Applications can be submitted:

  • at the Aizkraukle region state and local government unified customer service centers;

  • at association offices and parish service centers;

  • by sending by mail;

  • signed with a secure electronic signature, by sending electronically to the e-mail address dome@aizkraukle.lv.

The submitted business ideas will be evaluated by a seven-member committee. During the selection process, applicants will be invited to present their ideas, after which a decision will be made on which projects to support. The results of the competition are planned to be announced by May 29.

  • Svetlana Mateša from Aizkraukle was awarded 4827.20 euros for the purchase of equipment for a physical development studio.

  • Tomas Miglāns from Koknese will implement a business idea for the purchase of equipment and the provision of veterinary medical services with a specialization in equine medicine for 4669 euros.

  • IK “Dāvanu skapis” (Austris Vitte) from Irši will receive 5000 euros for developing a business idea for the purchase of a modular house for the production of personalized gifts and the organization of master classes.

  • Beate Beatrise Kalnaraupa from Aizkraukle will receive 4170.65 euros for the purchase of equipment and the provision of veterinary medical services in the Aizkraukle region.

  • Jelizaveta Arbeiterė from Stukmaņi, Klintaine parish, was awarded 5000 euros for the implementation of a business idea for the processing of vegetables, fruits and berries - freeze-drying;

  • Kaspars Kalniņš received 5000 euros for the implementation of a business idea for the purchase of an automatic water irrigation system for growing strawberries in closed areas in Koknese;

  • Zane Lukeviča from Aizkraukle developed an identification tool (test) for determining the giftedness of students for 4750 euros;

  • SIA “ORDO ID” from Koknese received 3877.94 euros for the development of a business idea for the provision of professional cleaning and janitorial services.

  • Ingūna Purakalne from Daudzese parish received 5000 euros for the implementation of a business idea for the development of an amusement park rental company;

  • 3500 euros were awarded to Signe Žuka, a business owner, for the production of garlic processing products in Aizkraukle parish;

  • Yelytsia Shmendel received 5000 euros for the establishment of a cosmetics cabinet in Koknese;

  • 2495.60 euros were allocated to Žanete Vingre for the establishment of a physiotherapy practice in Koknese;

  • Dace Šķirmante, with support of 3605 euros, implemented a business idea for photo processing, organizing, layout, printing works in Aizkraukle and the production of the game “Memory Catcher”.

  • 5000 euros were allocated to SIA “ES&ME”, which implemented the idea of ​​developing “Kempinga pie Daugavas” in Jaunjelgava;

  • SIA “Barvedis” received funding of 3745 euros to implement the idea of ​​developing the production of non-alcoholic beverages in Aizkraukle;

  • 3630 euros for the idea of ​​providing dental hygienist services in Nereta parish by Santa Markune;

  • 3613 euros of funding was allocated to Kristiāna Kreitāle to produce healthy confectionery in Pļaviņas.

  • Elfa Sekace also received 3000 euros from the municipality to open a foot and nail care clinic in Aizkraukle.
